Congratulations to all the 2025 Victoria Excellence in Surveying & Spatial Information Awards Winners!
Victoria’s surveying community came together on Saturday 11 October 2025 for the inaugural Victoria Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information (EISSI) Awards, a black-tie celebration hosted at the Rendezvous Hotel in Melbourne.
The evening drew a sell-out crowd of 150 guests and spotlighted projects and professionals who are lifting the bar for technical rigour, innovation and community impact across the State.
Consulting Surveyors Victoria (CSV) and the Institution of Surveyors Victoria (ISV) jointly delivered this first Victorian edition, with thanks to the organising committee and judging panel for their commitment.
We also acknowledge the objectives behind the awards program, which mirror the long-running success of EISSI in New South Wales and provide a pathway for State winners to contend for future national recognition.
Master of Ceremonies Pete Lazer guided the formalities with polish and energy, keeping the room moving through an impressive slate of finalists and winners.

Infrastructure and Construction was awarded to ThinkSpatial for the Pakenham Level Crossing Removal Project. Judges highlighted the team’s application of cutting-edge technology, including 3D scanning and the use of Augmented Reality to visualise hazards and clearances, which strengthened decision-making and safety in a constrained rail environment.
Extra Dimension and Innovation went to Taylors for the Kananook Train Maintenance and Wash Facility. The project set a benchmark for digital engineering in Victoria by integrating terrestrial laser scanning, hybrid verification and cloud-based platforms for efficient, high-quality as-built validation within a live rail setting.
Community and Sustainable Environment was awarded to Taylors for the Fiji Model Homes. Judges commended the pro-bono commitment, the use of UAV LiDAR, high-resolution imagery and 360° capture to deliver robust spatial products, and the training provided to local teams that leaves a lasting capability legacy.
Rural Cadastral Surveying and Land Titling produced two joint winners. Thomas & George were recognised for Brehauts Road, Glenburn, a complex post-bushfire environment that required extensive title research, careful pre-field planning and deft resolution of tenure questions. Head & Humphreys were recognised for LarnOO Farm, Kerrisdale, where rigorous pre-survey assessment, historical research and a mix of traversing and GNSS enabled the re-establishment of Crown boundaries and Government Roads across difficult mountainous terrain.
Urban Cadastral Surveying and Land Titling was awarded to Beveridge Williams for the Webb Street Level Crossing Removal. Their work resolved complex land status, hiatus and overhang issues in a live rail corridor and aligned records and gazettals for enduring tenure clarity.
Surveying Project Management was awarded to Auspat Land Survey Australia for the Westgate Project. Judges praised the team’s single-point coordination, integrated technology stack, rapid deployment protocols and structured communication that enabled precise, safe delivery within compressed windows on a live freeway.
The Alexander Skene Award for the most outstanding overall project was presented to Taylors for Fiji Model Homes, reflecting the project’s transformational community outcomes, high-quality spatial methodology and capacity-building for sustained local impact.
Professional Surveyor of the Year was awarded to Jonathan Neilson.
Young Surveyor of the Year to Ryley Muldoon.
Professional Organisation of the Year (Small Firm) to Thomas & George.
Professional Organisation of the Year (Large Firm) to Beveridge Williams.
Highly Commended
Highly Commended recognition on the night included Landair Surveys for Queens Bridge in the Extra Dimension and Innovation category, and the City of Greater Geelong for Corio Bay and Bellarine Foreshore Monitoring in Community and Sustainable Environment. Taylors also received a Highly Commended for Eynesbury Township in Urban Cadastral Surveying and Land Titling.
