EISSI Awards Victoria Student Prize
The annual EISSI Victoria Student Prize recognises an outstanding graduating tertiary student of surveying who has demonstrated excellence in academic achievement, leadership, contribution to the surveying profession and engagement within the broader student community. Recipients of this prize will be automatically nominated for the National EISSI Awards in the corresponding year.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, a nominee must have received one of the following awards from either the Institution of Surveyors Victoria or the Association of Consulting Surveyors Victoria in the same year as the current EISSI Awards Victoria event. The EISSI Awards are based on excellence and the EISSI Awards Victoria judging panel reserve the right not to award the EISSI Student Prize should no nominee meet their desired level of excellence in both achievement and submission:
The ISV RJ Love Award (RMIT University)
The CSV Peter F Davies Award (RMIT University)
The ISV GJ Thornton Smith Prize (University of Melbourne)
The ISV RMIT University Most Outstanding Student in Surveying Award (RMIT University)
SELECTION CITERIA
The EISSI Victoria Student Prize will be assessed by the EISSI Awards Victoria judging panel and nominees are invited to submit a one page document addressing the following criteria:
1. Academic Achievement (30%)
Title of Award or Prize received
Other Awards or recognition throughout their tertiary studies
An outline of major projects, research or thesis work
2. Contribution to the Student Cohort/Demonstration of the positive impact on fellow students (30%)
Mentoring or supporting peers
Leadership within student societies or university activities
Promoting collaboration, inclusion, and professional engagement among students
Participation in surveying-related events and initiatives.
3. Commitment to the Surveying Profession (25%)
Participation in industry events, conferences, seminars, or networking activities
Work experience, internships, or industry placements
Involvement with professional associations and industry initiatives
Advocacy for the surveying profession
4. Leadership and Future Leadership Potential (15%)
Leadership roles and achievements
Initiative, innovation, and professionalism
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Potential to make a significant future contribution to surveying in Victoria.
Nominations are accepted immediately following both University Awards presentation evenings but no later than 3 days following the final University Awards Dinner in the year of the current EISSI Awards Victoria event.
